Brazil Classics Kia Show 2022 with a rare yellow Plymouth Superbird among the main attractions

Perhaps you have never heard of brands like Auburn, Packard, Spitz, Horch, among others. But know that it is among the most popular when it comes to premium vintage cars. In Brazil, rarities from these and other famous and prestigious manufacturers, such as Lamborghini, Ferrari, Mercedes, BMW, Porsche, appear only twice a year at the most interesting meeting of classics in the country, in Araxá (MG).

The model was one of the few shown on the red carpet. The unsuspecting may even confuse the beautiful Aston Martin DB6 , from 1965, and the car used in several scenes of the James Bond film secret agent, who uses a DB5. In the case of the model shown in Araxá (MG), the car is 9.5 cm long, which slightly increases the interior space. But the engine is the same in both types, 4.0, six cylinders, which produces 282 hp, the power to go from 0 to 100 km / h in just 6.1 seconds and reach 230 km / h.

Another car that was among the important things in the event is Mercedes-Benz 540K, which has A 5.4-liter, eight-cylinder, supercharged engine that developed 182 horsepower. Its transmission can be a four-speed manual or, optionally, a five-speed.

He also deserved a rare applause Rolls-Royce Phantom II Cabriolet Deville 1937, which received the Roberto Lee award – “Best of Show”. The car belongs to the collector Antônio Wagner da Cunha Henriques. And it was the last one produced by the brand before World War II. There were only 490 units made, all with the 7.3-liter V12, which works with a four-speed gearbox.

The Lalique Cup went to Horch Limousine 951-A from 1939. But among the nearly 300 units exhibited at the event, the big winner was the Hispano-Suiza Carroceia Fiol Barcelona from 1927, by collector Rúbio Fernal, who won the Og Pozzoli trophy, one of the icons of ancient racing in Brazil. , who died in November 2017, leaving a collection of more than 200 units.
