Six adult members from a new cycling club in Sille-le-Guillaume (Sarthe) recently took part in 24 Hours. a great sporting and human adventure.

On the legendary Bugatti circuit of Le Mans

The 24 Hours of Le Mans cycling is a cyclosportive event in team relay or solo. It takes place on the legendary Bugatti Le Mans circuit, 4.185 kilometers long. The closed circuit is fully lit at night. More than 2,600 participants from 13 different countries left on August 27 at 3 pm for 24 hours of competition. Olivier Drouet, Thierry Blanchet, Francis Besançon, Julien Pilu, Philippe Tézé and Nicolas Tabesse, six masters licensed by the Union Cycliste Sille le Guillaume, competed under the banner of OFIB.FR.

64th place out of 185 teams

These six experienced runners, aged 40 to 65, took turns for an hour of intense effort with the aim of covering the maximum number of kilometers in 24 hours. They all outdid themselves and finished with a respectable 64th out of 185 teams, 147th overall, i.e. 214 laps completed and a total of 895 km! The equipment and photos of this thirteenth edition where 580 teams at the starting line volunteered to complete the effort were provided by volunteer Angélique Plonquet.

UCSG licensees, an association founded a year ago by Olivier Drouet as president, will meet with partners and sponsors on Friday September 23 at 6:30 pm for a group photo in front of the town hall of Sillé-le-Guillaume.
