Audi A6 e-tron concept: if it’s up to the Germans, station wagons never die | Electric and Hybrid

Vans disappeared in Brazil (and it’s the fault of those who buy cars here). In Europe the reality is different and, if it depends on the Germans, the centers live more than before.

Next year it will launch the Audi A6 Avant e-tron Concept. In fact, by 2023, he will lose the nickname “fantasy”. For now, it’s a concept, but it won’t change until it hits the market.

All electric, it will join the e-tron range, and try to have the ambition of an SUV. If the Sportback version is already good, the station wagon raises the bar even higher in a sweeping design.

The novel will use the standard platform PPE (Premium Platform Electric), special for the electric way, developed together with Porsche.

In fact, this foundation will also give birth to other fruits, including SUVs, of different categories, sizes and different batteries.

If you look at the photos, you will notice that the concept is missing handles, both on the front and rear doors. The rear view mirror is still not defined. And you’ll probably have a choice of cameras instead of mirrors.

The size of the headlight projectors also indicate that the lights use laser technology, especially Matrix Led technology, which is already used in other models of the brand.

As for the air intake on the lower front, it is for cooling the battery, air conditioner and brakes.

As the 800V electric system used in the new A6 Avant electric is shared by Porsche, we can expect excellent sports performance (0 to 100 km/h in 4 seconds). That is, there will be no RS 6 e-tron option in the near future.

The station wagon is large: it is 4.96 m long and 1.96 m wide (not counting the exterior mirrors).

The 100 kWh battery will have the fastest charging system, ensuring 80% charge in less than 25 minutes – equivalent to 300 km. The declared autonomy, in economy mode, can reach 700 km. In other words, the same as a combustion car.

Its two engines will ensure the same power with 470 horse power and 35.7 kgfm torque.

It is still too early to talk about the price. In Brazil, as a reference, the Sportback costs between R$600,000 and R$780,000.
