The fastest and most powerful SUV on the market was presented last week and its name brings a new engine power, 707hp. With a torque of 900 Nm, it uses a 9-speed gearbox to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds and reach a top speed of 311 km/h.

Tobias Moers, CEO of Aston Martin, says of the DBX707: “Since its first introduction, the DBX has represented Aston Martin’s strong and innovative values in a way that proves that not all SUVs need to adhere to the same commitment. . With the DBX707, we’ve pushed the boundaries in every area to create a vehicle that sets new standards for performance and convenience. The fastest, most powerful, most efficient and most attractive vehicle of its kind. It elevates Aston Martin to the pinnacle of SUV performance.

The DBX707 engine now has ball bearing turbochargers and standard tuning to deliver more power and torque. A 9-speed automatic transmission with a “wet clutch” is capable of handling higher torque loads compared to a conventional torque converter, this high-performance transmission allows full use of 707 hp and 900 Nm of torque (an increase of 157 hp and 200). Nm compared to DBX).

Therefore, gear changes are very fast compared to transmission and torque converter. The shifting feel is quicker and more direct, which gives the driver a greater sense of control and responsiveness. The ability to accelerate has also been improved, which contributes to the DBX707 going from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.3 seconds.

Says Head of Aston Martin Powertrain Ralph Illenberger: “With this unique new model, we are truly unlocking the DBX’s potential to create a world-conquering high-performance SUV. The huge gains we have achieved in power and torque not only reflect the inherent power of the 4-litre V8 biturbo, but also Aston Martin’s desire and ability to find engineering solutions without compromise. The combination of this powerful engine and the new 9-speed ‘wet clutch’ transmission is at the heart of the DBX707’s formidable power and unforgettable character.

Rounding out the DBX707’s range of performance enhancements is the installation of carbon ceramic brakes (CCB) as standard equipment. Measuring 420mm at the front and 390mm at the rear, these CCB discs feature 6-piston calipers and result in a 40.5kg reduction in unsprung weight.

Wheels and tires are 22 inches as standard equipment (Sport and Ribbon design options). An optional 23-inch alloy wheel is offered in a choice of black or satin black with diamond accents.

The suspension is one of the key features of this SUV, air-conditioned, like that of the Formula 1, and it maintains the basic architecture and three-cylinder air chambers of the DBX V8 (already considered the best-driving SUV on the market). The DBX707 has a custom chassis configuration optimized for your needs and goals.

Speaking of suspension, the DBX707 has new damping valves and a re-tuned variable spring rate switch to improve body control and steering response. The electronic power steering system has also been modified to improve the feel behind the wheel and help the driver create a clearer picture of the increased corner loads and available grip.

The model received changes at the front, making the DBX receive a larger front grille, new DRL (daytime running lights) design, new air intake and brake cooling ducts, as well as a new front splitter profile. The satin chrome grille (extended to significantly increase the flow of cooling air to the high-performance V8 and new 9-speed transmission) has two vanes, and the six horizontal bars are now divided to create a more attractive and recognizable version once above the line. .

The rear gets a new spoiler that has been added to the roof wing to reduce the effect of lift and increase high-speed stability, and the rear diffuser has been extended significantly higher to accommodate the new quad exhaust system. Finished in satin black complementing the black diffuser trim, the new exhaust is tuned to deliver a unique sound signature. Completing the rear, a new backplate with integrated panel slots accentuates the DBX707’s muscular appearance.
