The Civil Police from the Maringá Stelionato Police Station identified this Wednesday, the 7th, the main suspect in the death of businessman Cláudio Roberto Malbino Batista, aged 48. He was found naked and hanged this Monday morning, the 5th, in a farm on the way from Floresta to Itambé. The victim owned a supermarket in Floresta.
The suspect is a 14-year-old boy, a resident of Itambé. He was taken to the Civil Police station and confessed to the crime. At first, the two were cooking barbecue on the businessman’s farm when they had a disagreement and the child was going to suffocate Cláudio Roberto. He then tied a rope around the merchant’s neck, feigning possible suicide.
Before fleeing, he took the businessman’s cell phone and other items. The child handed over the mobile phone to his friend, who buried the device in an open place. He already gave chains to his brother, who was also buried.
The three were taken to the Civil Police Station, and later released as they were not arrested.
Itambé’s coaching council is following up on the case.
