A series of four accidents involving several vehicles caused a huge pile-up on the BR-376, on the section that passes through the district of Iguatemi, in Maringá, this Wednesday morning, the 21st.
The first accident was recorded between three vehicles. The news says that the cause of the accident was due to the rain that caused the road to be flooded.
The car had slowed down and ended up being hit from behind by a second car, which was hit by a third car. From this first accident, a pile started to form on BR-376.
Shortly after, two cars also ended up colliding due to the highway congestion. Then, the third accident, of the highest number, was also recorded due to traffic jams.
This third accident ended up involving five cars. One person had moderate injuries and needed help from SAMU (Emergency Telephone Service) rescuers. The victim was taken to Maringá hospital. From this accident, another pileup was created on BR-376.
After a whole series of pile-ups on the highway that connects the district of Iguatemi to Mandaguaçu, a fourth accident was also recorded on the same stretch of highway.
Due to the condition of the road, the car slowed down while traveling on the main road and ended up being hit from behind by another car.
In total, twelve vehicles were involved in an accident on the BR-376, in the Iguatemi region, on Wednesday morning.
The Federal Highway Police was on scene to support events and promote signaling and traffic flow.
