A premium electric SUV that is as powerful as it is expensive

Polestar has just revealed the exact price and specifications of its future electric SUV Polestar 3. Spoiler: the note will be an exaggeration.

Expected at least in October, the formalization of the Polestar 3 will not be a big surprise considering the first information already published by the Swedish brand. The latter has revealed the technical data sheet and the price of its electric SUV in several European markets, as presented by Automobile Magazine and Engine.

The Spanish website specifically mentions two versions of the car, the main differences of which are in terms of power: 360 kW (489 hp) and 840 Nm of torque for the first, against 380 kW (517 hp) and 910 Nm for the second. . Acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h takes 5 and 4.7 seconds respectively.

XXL template

Of course, this slight difference in power affects the autonomy to a lesser extent, despite the same battery capacity of 110 kWh. The Pilot Long Range Dual Motor Plus, as Polestar calls it, has a range of 610 kilometers WLTP. The Long Range Dual Motor Plus Perform version will deliver 560 km.

In both cases, the Polestar 3 puts the bag on performance, thanks to two electric motors mounted on the front axle and on the rear axle. Its maximum speed also reaches 210 km / h, regardless of the version used.

In terms of dimensions, this SUV advertises an XXL size: its length of 4.90 meters should make it a very long car, as is the case for example with the Porsche Taycan Sport Turismo (4963 mm) or the Tesla Model X (5036 mm). Calculate 1.96 meters in width or 1.62 meters in length.

A wheelbase of 2.98 meters suggests Good leg room and generous space for front and rear passengers. The trunk volume finally reaches 485 liters: one would expect more given its size.

We are approaching 100,000 euros

As for on-board systems and technologies, there are a large number of them: LED lights, lane departure warning, parking assist sensor, 360 ° camera, cruise control, 14.5-inch central screen, USB port front and rear, heated seats, 21 inch alloy wheels.

At the end of July, the CEO of Polestar, Thomas Ingenlath, was talking about the price list of the Polestar 3: between 75,000 and 110,000 euros depending on the finish and the selected options. The Spanish press promotes the following prices, probably specific to its market: 92,500 and 99,500 euros, depending on the version – prices that can change from one market to another, depending on the exact tax applied.

Let’s try to remember that Polestar still does not have the right to sell its cars in France. The Nordic company has actually been in a legal dispute with Citroën for a few years now.error of its logo, it seemed to be too close to that of the French brand.

Citroën wants to expel Polestar (and its luxury cars) from Europe with this new lawsuit.

After France, Citroën wants to ban the Polestar logo everywhere in Europe. The court will judge this case soon.
