7 special seats: Audi Q7 of almost R$ 600 thousand is elegant and powerful, but it lacks space | Measurements

If you’ve come this far, you’ve seen seven-seater cars in the R$100,000, R$200,000 and R$300,000 range. The Audi Q7 jumps a bit: it starts at BRL 500,000 and can reach close to BRL 600,000 in this photo version, S line. And if you think that the more expensive model, more space for two residents in the third row of seats, you were wrong.

Despite the length of more than 5 meters and almost 3 m of wheelbase, the luxury SUV does not treat those traveling in the last seats well. They are electrically activated and folded (for all buttons in the trunk and on the sides of the seats of the second row); however, the existing space is only for children because it is very small. People over 1.60 m/1.70 m will be completely uncomfortable.

Finding a bank is also not a very easy task. The seats at the ends of the second row have slid out and need to be dragged forward. The rear seats are folded (see rear multimedia screen) and then all seats are “closed” to open the access gap. Sitting in the back, the occupants have only cups at their disposal. There are no USB ports or air vents. On the other hand, you can not complain about the large size of the trunk. That is 740 liters with five people and a good 259 liters with the third row upright. The “mouth” is also generous and it is still possible to lower the car by a few centimeters through the air suspension to place heavy objects without lifting too much.

In addition to the space for seven people (and the price), the Q7 does very well in other aspects: finish, standard items, dynamics and engine. Speaking of engines, the SUV is always equipped with a V6 3.0 turbo 340 hp and 51 kgfm of torque. Those numbers are more than enough to move a heavy model of two tons. According to the German brand, Zero to 100 km/h takes 5.9 seconds.

In everyday life, it is very difficult to run out of energy. With a light press on the accelerator, the automatic transmission downshifts a few gears (there are eight in all) and pushes the SUV forward.

This also goes for taking the road with the family. The way to the end is much easier with the Q7. Sound insulation is good, interior materials are of good quality and the 5.06 m utility vehicle still handles corners well and offers a good level of comfort.despite the company’s suspension and 21″ wheels (all optional items).

By the way, Q7 is sold in two versions, starting at BRL 533,990 and BRL 584,990. However, the payment can be more than BRL 200,000 (that’s right) in different equipment, such as Audi Exclusive painting (R$37,000), night vision (R$24,000), rear steering axle (R$13,000), head display (R$4,000), 21-inch wheels (R$10,000), Bang & Olufsen audio system (R$ 11,000), S Line interior package (R$ 40,000), adaptive air suspension (R$ 22,000), panoramic roof (R$ 17,000)), LED matrix headlights full (R$ 14 thousand), among others. That is, the account can go to more than R $ 700 thousand.

It is worth noting that this current generation Q7 was presented in 2016 and was revised a year ago, which made the SUV’s appearance and interior more modern, with digital screens and a better finish.

The biggest problem with the Q7 is the price, even more if you look at the Volvo XC90 for R$ 470 thousand with a hybrid engine of 407 hp. However, the Q7 is a good luxury SUV.
