In an exclusive reveal at BMW Welt, the first images of the BMW i5 M60 Touring decked out in M Performance Parts have caught our attention today. The new M-designed Touring, painted in an eye-catching red, showcases various M Performance parts, starting with the standard carbon fiber aero bits.
Carbon Fiber parts all around
The exterior of the BMW i5 M60 Touring is proof of BMW’s commitment to further improving the looks of their cars in the market segments. The aerodynamic components, including the front, side, and rear sections, are made from carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP). This choice of material not only reduces the weight of the car but also increases the aerodynamics of the car. The visible fiber design, shown under the clear lacquer finish, emphasizes the car’s motorsport heritage.
Among the main M Performance Parts is the front fascia made of carbon fiber, ensuring an attractive appearance that is sharp and stylish. The side profile of the car features M Performance side skirt attachments and exterior mirror caps in carbon fiber. These features are complemented by M Performance side moldings in Frozen Black and side skirts hanging in grey.
Fierce Rear Spoiler
The rear of the I5 M60 Touring has not been left untouched by the M Performance upgrade. The rear spoiler made of carbon and the diffuser made from Aramid fibers are another nod to BMW’s motorsport heritage. BMW says that the choice of Aramid fiber, a material hailed from the aerospace industry for its light and strongest properties, is a practical decision. Not only does it resemble carbon fiber in appearance, but it also offers the advantage of electromagnetic permeability.
Sporty and Luxurious Interior
Although our photos don’t show the interior, we do know that it continues the luxury theme that comes from racing. BMW also offers a range of interior upgrades, starting with M Performance door plates in carbon fiber. For those looking for an alternative, M Aluminum and BMW Aluminum door plates are available. The floor mats, decorated with Performance lettering and embroidery in M colors, add a finishing touch that is both elegant and sporty.
Big Brakes, Cool Wheels
Performance is at the heart of the BMW i5 M60 Touring, as evidenced by the 20-inch M Performance brake system. This system, which includes fixed 6-piston aluminum calipers in red with the M logo, not only enhances the car’s beauty but also its braking ability. Light weight ventilated brake discs, designed with perforations and grooves, reduce the formation of a film of water between the brake pad and the disc, ensuring optimal braking performance in all conditions.
Completing the car’s impressive lineup is the 21-inch M Performance Cross spoke 943 M Bicolor alloy wheel. They can also be painted in Frozen Midnight Gray and Jet Black matte. BMW doesn’t offer 20-inch M Aerodynamic 939 M Bicolor wheels either.
